Save Hayes Barton Fundraising Update
2026 Kicks Off with a Big Achievement
Happy New Year neighbors! I hope everyone had a great Holiday and is well rested to continue the fight to save Hayes Barton in 2026.
On that on note, I wanted to update on where we are on fundraising. Here’s a quick recap:
July 21, 2025, we kicked off a $100k fundraiser to help with the ongoing legal bills as we fight on two fronts (original post here)
Dec 8, 2025 - we announced that we had reached 40% ($40k) of that goal AND an anonymous neighbor had committed $10k here with a match. Therefore if we hit that $10k goal, it would effectively double with the match and get us to $60k (or 60%).

We Did It!
Right at the end of the year - around December 28th we received $10k in commitments after Dec 8 and were able to match that and now we’re at $60k - (the green bar in the tracker above).
I, on behalf of Frank Gordon, the directly next-door neighbors fighting this in court → The Solic’s (912 Williamson) and Bennett’s (1517 Iredell), the neighbors living on Williamson and Iredell that will face the worst impact from the parking, traffic and decreased property values and the entire neighborhood I want to thank everyone for your support. We’ve seen over 40 different donors from all over not only Hayes Barton, but Raleigh. There’s even donors who had parents or family members that lived in Hayes Barton that want to save the neighborhood.

Another $10k Match!
Today I’m excited to announce that the same Anonymous Neighbor Donor that helped us get from $40k to $60k with their $10k match on Dec 8 was so pleased and impressed with the speed and energy generated by the initial $10k match that they have decided to doubling down and has committed a second $10k match. You’ll notice the yellow area on the tracker. If we can hit this $10k match, donation that will get us to $80k. - 80% of our goal.
Neighbors, the finish line is in sight, if we can knock down this next $10k goal, that will get us to $80k and from there it’s all downhill.
